Sri. Charu Chandra Roy, S/o the late Sri. Doyal Chandra Roy was an M.A.from the Calcutta University. Sri Charu Chandra Roy was the Deputy Director of the Dupleix High School. Later Sri Charu Chandra Roy abandons his teaching career to dedicate himself entirely to nationalist movements.
He was the leader of the Chandernagore Party and formed a society named ‘Sathpathabalamby Sampradaya’, the member of which took the path of honesty. Sri Matilal Roy was an active soldier of that society. The British intelligence report depicted that Matilal Roy was the leader of the Boraichanditala section (Southern Part of Chandannagar) of the ‘Sathpathabalamby Sampradaya’.
He was also a member of the Maniktala gang and got arrested in the Alipur bomb case, but was later released on political grounds. Noren Goswami, the approver in the Alipur bomb case, stated that Charu Chandra Roy organized the attempt on the life of the Mayor of Chandarnagore. He was one of the most influential men in French Chandarnagore.
